Mighty Ducks No. 1 goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere misses first playoff game
Anaheim Mighty Ducks No. 1 goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere was held out of the team's first playoff game against the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Giguere practised earlier in the day but wasn't on the ice for the pre-game skate amid speculation he had suffered an undisclosed injury. Ilya Bryzgalov started in Giguere's place and was backed up by Nathan Marsters, who was recalled from Portland of the American Hockey League.

Giguere became a star during the 2003 playoffs, when Anaheim fell one game short of winning the Stanley Cup and he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP.

Bryzgalov served as his backup this season, compiling a 13-12-1 record.

Marsters has never played in an NHL game.
